Connor didn't have an official preschool graduation, but the teachers put the kids in caps and gowns to take their pictures and sent them home with diplomas. Cuteness!

Twas The Day Before Christmas 2008

My FIL sent me some pictures he took this past Christmas. Yay!

Sadly, I did not take any pictures myself because our camera was left behind in a huge icestorm. We had no power in our home the day we left (and the day before, and the day after...) and I couldn't find half the things I was trying to bring.

But here are the kids, Matt, and me through another lens, playing together at a museum.

My father passed away unexpectedly last week. He was 58. He loved being my kids' "Poppa" and we all miss him very very much. I wanted to share a favorite picture of my dad with each of the kids.

Yes, I know I have long-neglected the blog. I got a new camera, and with it a new memory card, and it holds literally over a thousand pictures at a time... so I have been so lazy about downloading off it. in fact, when I downloaded this morning, I had pictures from MAY until today.

Chloe turned one on October 26th, and we all had cake. She had her very own little smash cake, but mostly it was a "poke" cake. Because she poked it. A lot.

Connor enjoyed his share of cake in a much more conventional way - he ate it.

At the pediatrician for her 6 month appointment we found out she is in the 90th percentile for height. Maybe she'll end up taller than her mother after all ;)

Chloe had her very first solids today, avocado. She was very very excited and grabbed the spoon and put it in her own mouth. She was very focused and sucked the spoon dry every time. She also had a sippy cup of water to wash it down. She thinks it was a very good day.

The story of a room

This is what is now Connor's room, when the previous owners of our house lived there. Notice the fugly wallpaper.

We then bought the house and Connor and I pulled off much of the wallpaper very easily. We had no idea what was in store. just some backing to scrape off, right?

Well... this is what happened. That wasn't the only layer of wallpaper, and the layers underneath were... troublesome to say the least. Matthew did a great job with the majority of the scraping while I painted the other rooms.

One wall almost done.

The second wall almost done too. It had some very interesting doodles on the original wall.

So so close.....

And now. Repainted blue with white trim. It is amazing, to me, that it is even the same room.

I will never put up wallpaper.
