Rockstar:INXS elimination show last night. I think it was the right choice all around. Suzie was eliminated, and I think she did the worst job on the performance show (listening to "Interstate Love Song" on my computer without watching the performance, it is painfully obvious how many times she messed up coming in at the right time) and with her elimination song too.

Suzie did a decent job with "Suicide Blonde". JD did a *great* job with "By My Side", I still can't really stand to watch him on stage but listening to it on my computer, it's one of my favorite performances ever. And for me to like a JD performance... crazy. MiG did a very good job with "What You Need", but that was *such* a MiGgy song. Bouncy, high energy... and um, the ripping of the shirt was rather silly. I would have rather seen him do something like "Need You Tonight".. I know he can rock, I know he can be high energy... can he smolder? That's my question.

I didn't get to put the JD curse pic up but I definately will for next week. Marty was safe and he got the most viewer votes plus the encore vote for his original, "Trees". JD opened the encore with an acoustic version of "Pretty Vegas" by studio audience choice. At least tonight he got all the words right, unlike the night before... (hee hee).

Go Marty! I'm asking for some Lovehammers CDs for Christmas :).

Rockstar: INXS

I will add another Connor pic to this post tomorrow. I took one of him watching JD on TV to curse JD with, but it is still on my camera. The curse is on! Heh. :)

Okay, skip the rest unless you care about Rockstar: INXS.

They all did two songs tonight. Oh and information for anyone who cares about the popularity of the originals they performed last week, "Trees" (Marty's original) outsold "Pretty Vegas" (JD's original) on MSN Music last week. The other originals lag far behind those two.

Suzie: Bleh. She messed up the first song, and she lost her voice at the end of the second. If you cannot sing two songs in a row dear, you cannot headline a tour.

JD: Matthew looked at me during this and said "Am I going to have to vote for... JD?". I feel bad cursing him tonight, since really it was his best night yet. But he still bugs, in a serious way. But he was pretty good. I enjoy his original song "Pretty Vegas", and I liked him doing "Money".

Marty: I like non acoustic Trees better. But I liked him and Dave Navarro just sittin' on stage groovin'. Now: here is the deal. From the very first week when Marty did "Take Me Out", I *feel* what he wants me to feel. I feel pain, laughter, anguish, joy, whatever it is... Marty makes me feel it. That is why he is my favorite favorite. And "Creep" was no exception. I felt it. I felt his pain. I cried with him at the end when he is broken and sad. When he sang at the very end "And I don't belong here..." I wanted to hug him. Matthew called it the performance of the show (not the night... the entire show). I am going to be a Marty fan for a long time to come.

That being said, I think JD should front INXS.... except um.... I don't like when he does INXS. HAH. :) Marty needs to go somewhere he can rock out and INXS doesn't try to mold him into an evil box.

Okay, MiG: MiG MiG MiG. Okay um... I did not feel "Paint it Black"... at all. It was pretty. IT SHOULD NOT BE PRETTY. It is a dark dark song. MiG made it sweet. Maybe he was painting it blue or pink. It was nice.... heh. And oh um, I really dislike all the Seal songs I have ever heard, including "Kiss From A Rose". What that has to do with INXS I have no idea. MiG did a very nice "Kiss From a Rose". For what it is. He can go audition for "Rock"star: Seal. :)

I heart you MiG! You can prance about shirtless anytime, you seriously work out.

I leave you with a comment from my mother. My mother only watched this show once (she works too early in the morning now to stay up for it). She watched the week Marty did "Wish You Were Here". She loved it. And she said "But can he rock though?"

Enough said. If Marty can sell my mother on a ballad like he wouldn't be able to really rock -- and he gets too much "You're too modern rock" crap.... Marty rules.

(I showed her videos of earlier weeks to show her he can rock ;) ).

Now that we have been letting Connor stand in the bathroom and get dried off before coming into the bedroom to get dressed... he sometimes escapes and runs about not dressed.

He usually runs over to my computer. We don't know why. :)

Going Going Gone!

Connor, if we hand him the correct shape and put the sorter in the correct alignment, can get the shape into the sorter. That may not sound like much, but it's a big deal to us :).

And, he claps! And claps and claps and claps... he loves to clap so much, that if he is holding something we want to take away, we just have to clap and he will let it go to clap too. :)

So in the above pics he is putting the triangle into the sorter and then clapping. :)

Okay, so last week I said I was going to post a pic of Connor watching JD to curse him, but I couldn't get Connor near the TV when JD was on, so oh well.

Here are my Rockstar INXS thoughts:

JD - I actually liked his original song. Well, after the first verse which I thought he mumbled. I did not like his version of Come As You Are. But I liked him overall a lot more than I thought I would, but really that isn't saying much.... :)

Suzie - Suzie just brought the meh for me in such a big way! Her voice was pretty, but I was bored and yawning. Ty did better writing Deanna's song than her original... oh well. Oh, but she was Connor's favorite by a lot. Connor never took his eyes off her the entire time she sang I Can't Make You Love Me.

MiG - I really liked his cover a lot (Hard to Handle). BUT, his original song sucked and put me right to sleep. Bah. I wanted to like it but I just couldn't.

Jordis - Matthew liked We Are The Champions more than I did, but I thought it was good. But her original song... it was (the lyrics) just BEGGING to be sent home. Can we be more obvious? That sucked. I liked it okay musically except the beginning kind of annoyed me.

Marty - Matthew and I agreed he was the best of the night. His cover (Everlong) I liked a lot, although I did like MiG's cover better, but his original I LOVED. LOVED. Ah, Marty.

I miss Ty.

Okay um, my bottom three.. hmm. Not Marty. That's all I can commit to. :)

Feets!

Yay for feets!

Well, yesterday I put my ode to Ty Taylor up and then he got eliminated from the competition last night. So, next week I am taking a picture of Connor watching JD (if I can get Connor to look at the screen when JD is on....) and putting that up. We'll see if I can work my magic again, on purpose this time :).

Hee hee.

I still heart me some Ty. I am going to get a Dakota Moon CD for Christmas. And, honestly, I think what he said last night was true on some levels. But more about the mohawk, even if he didn't realize it ;). Several people I talk to about the show have said "how can some guy with a mohawk front INXS?" and said they'd never vote for him. But I doubt these people vote anyway.
